About Me

I am a lecturer at the University of New England with a particular interest in the history of economic thought. My research focuses primarily on the economic philosophy and theory of the 19th century American Protectionists, a school of economic thought which includes such figures as Alexander Hamilton, Friedrich List, and Henry Charles Carey.

I received my PhD in 2024 from Federation University Australia. My PhD dissertation is entitled '"American Protectionist Thought: The Economic Philosophy and Theory of the 19th Century American Protectionists." In my dissertation, I recover and reconstruct the American Protectionist system of economic thought from the writings of roughly seventy economists and statesmen who made up the School. The scope of the dissertation is comprehensive and covers all the major domains of economic analysis. A biography for each of the roughly seventy writers who made up the School is also included in the appendix of the dissertation.

My research has been recognized by both the History of Economic Thought Society of Australia (HETSA) and the Italian Association for the History of Political Economy (AISPE) with my dissertation being awarded the 2024 HETSA Prize and 2025 Terenzio Maccabelli Prize for Best Dissertation in the history of economic thought. I also hold a Bachelor of Economics with First Class Honours from the University of New England. My honors thesis focused on the economic thought of Henry Charles Carey.
